Return Policy

Bambino is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of used baby products. This Return Policy explains your rights and responsibilities when a purchased item is not as described, arrives damaged, or the wrong item is sent.

Please read this policy carefully before buying or selling on Bambino.

What Is and Is Not Eligible for Return

Eligible for Return

Returns are accepted only in the following circumstances:

  • The item is materially not as described in the listing
  • The item arrives damaged prior to shipment
  • The wrong item was sent by the seller

Not Eligible for Return

  • Change of mind or buyer's remorse
  • Items that match their listing description but do not meet the buyer's personal expectations
  • Items damaged after delivery due to buyer handling

Bambino reserves the right to make final eligibility determinations on a case-by-case basis.

Return Windows

Inspection Window — 48 Hours

Upon delivery, buyers have 48 hours to inspect the item. The inspection window begins at the timestamp Bambino receives delivery confirmation from our shipping carrier.

Complaint Window — 72 Hours

After the inspection window closes, buyers have an additional 72 hours to submit a return request through the Bambino platform if they have a valid claim.

Total window from delivery to return request: 5 days.

No return requests will be accepted after this window has closed, regardless of circumstance.

How to Submit a Return Request

  1. Navigate to your order in the Bambino app
  2. Select "Request a Return" and choose the reason for your claim
  3. Upload photos clearly showing the issue with the item
  4. Submit your request

Photo requirements: Buyers are responsible for photographing the item at the time of delivery if they intend to make a condition-based claim. Photos must be submitted with the return request. Bambino cannot accept claims without supporting photo evidence.

Seller Response Window

Once a return request is submitted:

  • The seller is notified immediately and has 48 hours to respond with their position and any supporting evidence
  • Bambino reviews all submissions and makes a final determination
  • If the seller does not respond within 48 hours, the return request is automatically approved. The buyer will be refunded in full and is not required to return the item

Sellers do not have the authority to unilaterally accept or reject return requests. Bambino makes all final determinations.

Returning the Item

If a return is approved by Bambino:

  • The buyer must return the item within 7 days of return approval
  • The item must be returned in the same condition as when it was received — with no new damage, stains, or missing components
  • The buyer must photograph the item before re-packaging it for return as proof of condition
  • Returns must be shipped using a Bambino-generated return label with tracking included
  • The buyer bears responsibility for the item during return transit

If the returned item arrives at the seller in a damaged condition, the buyer's refund may be forfeited. Bambino will review photos submitted by both parties to make this determination.

If the return shipment is lost in transit, the buyer must file a claim with the carrier. Bambino will hold the escrow funds for up to 30 days while the claim is resolved. If the claim remains unresolved after 30 days, Bambino will make a discretionary determination based on available evidence.

Return shipping costs paid by the seller will be deducted from their held escrow balance before any remaining funds are released.

Refunds

When a return is approved and the returned item is confirmed to be in acceptable condition:

  • The buyer receives a full refund of the item purchase price
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable — the shipping service was rendered
  • Bambino's platform fee is non-refundable
  • Refunds are processed via the original payment method through Stripe and may take 5-10 business days to appear depending on your bank

Escrow and Fund Release

Bambino holds all purchase funds in escrow from the time of purchase. Funds are not released to the seller until the 5-day inspection and complaint window has passed with no return request submitted.

If a return request is submitted within the 5-day window, escrow funds are held until Bambino reaches a final determination. Funds will not be released to the seller while a return request or dispute is under review.

Disputes

If either party disagrees with an initial return decision:

  • Disputes must be submitted through the Bambino platform within 48 hours of the return determination
  • Bambino will review the dispute and respond within 5 business days
  • Bambino's final decision is binding
  • Submitting fraudulent claims, false photo evidence, or misrepresenting item condition may result in permanent account suspension and potential legal action

Seller Responsibilities

Sellers are responsible for:

  • Accurately describing item condition, including any flaws, wear, or missing components
  • Providing clear, accurate photos in the listing
  • Responding to return requests within 48 hours with honest and complete information
  • Accepting return shipping costs when a valid claim is determined to be their responsibility

Sellers who repeatedly receive valid return claims or fail to respond to return requests may have their selling privileges suspended.
